Introduction:
Higher Diploma in Accounting (HDA) is jointly certificated by Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) and BIMS. HDA is recognized by universities and professional bodies in the UK and worldwide.
The aim of the Higher Diploma in Accounting (HDA) is to provide students with a sound, basic business education, suitable for those seeking a range of careers in industry, commerce and public administration and thus enabling them to be more successful when seeking employment. It is a well regarded qualification for entry to Higher Education and advanced professional studies.
It is a short dual diploma that allows numerous exemptions to its students in ACCA, ICAEW, final year entry in the BBA and B. Sc programs and many more exemptions nationally and internationally. This distinctive diploma saves cost and time of individuals who wish to step into professional studies after completing their Matriculation or O’ Levels.

Exemptions for Admission in HDA
If a student has completed or partially completed qualifications such as ACCA, CIMAP, MBA, M.Com, B.Com, BBA, he/she becomes eligible for exemptions into HDA.

- Chance to study ACCA in UK (for remaining courses)
- For 8 exemptions in ICAEW, students should take H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, H7 and H9
- For 6 exemptions in ACCA, students should take H1, H2, H6, H8 plus any two Papers
- For 5 exemptions in CIMA, students should take H1, H2, H7, H10 plus any two Papers
- For full exemption in Edexcel HDA Accounting, students should take H1, H2, H4 plus any four Papers
- For full exemption in CAT student should take H1, H2 plus any four Papers
- For 1 exemption in CPA (SQA), student should take H4 plus any five Papers
